One Simple Tip to Increase Value of Your Offering
How do you increase value of your offering? Do you include additional services? Do you include a gift with purchase?
Value is subjective. Value is how people perceive your offering’s worth. Whether the customer values your offering or not does not change your cost of production.
Per Merriam Webster the definition of Value: “relative worth, utility, or importance”
Too many times we think we can increase the perceived value of our offering by adding something. However, when we add something it increases our expenses, narrows the profit margin, and spreads our resources thin. Especially thin if you are a solopreneur.
Is there another way to increase the value of my offering?
I am happy to share, yes, there is another way to increase the value of your offering, but it takes hard work and time. The secret is to improve the quality of your existing offering.
Yes, it is that simple. Improve the quality of your existing offering.
- If you are a maker, how can you create a longer lasting more durable product? How can you provide a product that is multi-purpose?
- If you are a service provider, how can you get better at your craft/skill? What are you doing to stay current in your industry?
- What are you doing to practice and hone your craft separately from your customer interactions?
When we work on ourselves and improve our skill set we continuously bring value to our business that cannot be easily replicated. Our unique experiences, knowledge, and skills combined allow us to better compete in the market.
In conclusion, instead of looking to see what you can add to your offering, look to see how you can be one of the best at what you provide.
