In the Coffee Bar blog, Meet the Founder series, we ask each woman to share their wisdom by answering two specific business questions. We follow up by asking what is one habit that contributed to their success. We hope you gain insight into the hard work it takes to build a successful business and build a new habit!

Question: What would you suggest to focus on the most in the first 2-3 years of business? Why?
Answer: WORK HARD. It sounds simple, but it is true. Work your butt off in the first 2-3 years of business and you’ll be set for the next 10, 20, 30 years. If you get everything set and ironed out in the first few years of business, you can plan to take it easier for the years beyond that. Just know that it is normal to feel overwhelmed, stress, busy, all that in the beginning of business. BUT in all your working hard, plan to grow it to a point where you can then relax later on and still be running a business!
Question: Tell us about a specific time when you had a work commitment and a family situation arise where you had to juggle both at the same time. What did you learn from this?
Answer: Everyday. This is our everyday lives. Running your own business is very hard work. Running a program that so many people depend on and making sure that everything is 100% all the time is hard work, but we have found that just managing time well is the best thing you can do!
My husband and I set aside time just to be with our kids, and also a time where we 100% focus on business. We have to set up some boundaries so we aren’t trying to do both all the time! I am very blessed to have an amazing husband and business partner that understands if something work-related comes up. There have been times where I have a podcast interview or webinar and one of the kiddos is sick or needs to be picked up from school, but between the both of us, we always work it out! We get it done. 😉
Question: What is one habit that contributed to your success?
Answer: Date Nights with my hubby! Remember, even if you are in the crazy season of life and business, take a moment to two to yourself and your family! 🙂
