- Describe in detail the process of achieving your Milestone.
After completing a rebrand, I launched my new website today! The process began last year when I wanted a new logo, but I quickly realized I needed to put the rebrand on hold while I better honed in on my values, aesthetic and client experience. I took a course about discovering my ideal client and really did some in-depth work to analyze past dream clients. Combining my values and theirs, I was able to identify what we had mutually in common, and the things that would attract more clients like them. The new logo was developed in the midst of the course, and from there, the process began to nail down the color palette and the nitty gritty aesthetics of the website itself. I actually used a team of people in different areas, and I spent time just writing and writing to get to the heart of what I wanted to communicate. It was a lot of late nights + a labor of love, and I’m so excited to finally have a more authentic representation of what I want to do for my clients.
- What did you learn during the process?
I learned that sometimes it’s not a bad thing to put things on hold while you recalibrate in order to send a more powerful and resonant message. I shot a whole brand promo video and was so concerned about it being perfect, that it lost its feeling of authenticity. I was trying too hard to say the “right” thing, but it lacked the heart and soul I want to communicate. The video is gorgeous, but I was off. It was a hard decision to scrap after so much work, but I decided to hire my amazing videographer to shoot the second round in early summer.
- What advice would you give to someone else trying to accomplish the same Milestone?
Done is better than perfect, but authentic is better than a false start.
- How did you choose to celebrate your Milestone once you achieved it?
My boyfriend bought us a bottle of Veuve and we celebrated by toasting and spending the evening together.
- Who helped you achieve this Milestone?
Chelsea Bliefernicht of White Quill Creative shot my video loop and will be doing my promo videos.
Alyssa Doorhy of Co Chic Styling booked a branding session with me last year and was so amazing to work with, but also helped me key into some key brand values.
Abby Giffin of Heirloom Event Co. recently did a branding session with me and helped me evaluate my process, which I refined a bit better in the copy on my site.
The whole mastermind helped to encourage me and give me tips on things to incorporate in the overall site.
Congratulations Jenn on your new website! It is beautiful and truly captures the experience you provide for your clients.Done is better than perfect, but authentic is better than a false start. #lbdsmilestone… Click To Tweet
