Answer 5 Powerful Questions for Guaranteed Business Growth
When was the last time you sat down to review your business? Taking the time to review your business each month is an investment in your business. It allows you to pause and reflect on your accomplishments. It challenges you to be honest with yourself and your shortcomings. It also provides a timeline for your growth. Are you repeatedly facing the same challenges? Are you following through and accomplishing your goals?
1. What did you accomplish in the last calendar month?
As small business owners, it is important to pause, reflect, and celebrate what you accomplished. Because we are the driving force of our business we too often just go onto the next task or project without taking the time to acknowledge what we accomplished or the milestones we achieved.
2. What internal business processes need to be refined?
Review your client onboarding process, your sales process, your client experience, your email automation, etc. What processes in your business could be refined and made better? Whether it is to make it easier or more enjoyable for your clients, a more efficient use of your time, to be more organized, or to better serve your team?
NOTE: Be detailed in your answers. The more details you provide the easier it is to take action to improve it.
We all have processes within our business that can be tightened up. 😉
3. What personal or professional skill do I need to develop and/or strengthen?
What skill do you want to enhance or strengthen to make you a better business woman? Is it learning SEO, email marketing, sales strategy, Facebook ads, etc.? What steps will you take to learn that? Will you take a class, read a book, hire a coach, reach out to a colleague with experience?
If you don’t know where to start or what resources are best, I encourage you to ask/post in our private network. We would love to help you!
4. Where am I not seeing the results that I desire within my business?
What do you need help with? Where do you feel stuck and are not seeing the results that you desire? Many times we get stuck in our own heads and can’t see the forest through the trees. Having an outside perspective of someone that is not in your business and/or industry provides clarity. Asking this question and receiving feedback from peers is the most powerful part of our masterminds.
5. What specific goals do I need to accomplish in the next calendar month?
Goals need to be specific and achievable within the next 30 days. Specific meaning it can be measured (# or %). The goal can be part of a larger annual or quarterly goal broken down into a smaller segment or step specifically for that month. Then think about what steps you will have to take and write them out. When you break it down into steps, it makes it easier to achieve.
NOTE: Your goals should carry over into your accomplishments the following month. If you are not able to carry them over to accomplishments (which is completely fine) then ask for feedback so you can achieve it and move past the road block.
- Set aside a specific time each month, ideally the first week, to review the previous calendar month’s business.
- Be thorough in your answers. The more details you provide the better you will be able to understand challenges and track growth.
